New Year’s Day is one of my favourite days of the year.
It’s exciting and full of possibilities, if simply for the fact that I haven’t had a chance to break my resolutions yet.
And, I am definitely one for resolutions. Like each and every year before, I do plan to save more money, become more fit, and get more sleep. Just like everyone else I know. I know this sounds familiar. Blah, blah, blah… right?
But, what if resolutions were more about affirming your ideals and goals, rather that setting yourself up for a dismal failure?
For example, I am not going to be a star at all of my resolutions, but I do want to endeavor to do a lot of things. So, this year, I’m going to look at it like an affirmation of my goals, like a renewal of vows to myself. A good refresher of what’s important to me.
Within that long list (which I admit reads like the outside of a Lululemon shopping bag) is the goal of writing more, learning more about where I live, taking more pictures, and trying out new family activities. Tying these all together is my goal of writing here regularly.
Anyways, it’s time to pull out the calendar, take down the Christmas tree, and start making my to-do list.
Best wishes for a wonderful, exciting, and fulfilling 2014!
